Two of Eugene Stoner’s classic and watershed designs are the AR15 and AR-18, which changed the game forever in terms of modern firearms. This video shows two rare and early versions of these significant designs.
The common use and availability today of the AR15 makes early examples quite collectible, and at serial number 000594 (the 494th made by Colt), this AR15 is about as early as it gets.
The AR-18 is lesser-known, but still quite significant from an evolutionary standpoint. It’s several advancements can be seen in numerous subsequent designs around the world – another testament to the ingenuity of Eugene Stoner.
