The M21 was an M14 based DMR/Sniper Weapon System developed by the U.S. Army in the 80’s when there was no semi-automatic weapon system to lay down precision fire. The current configuration of this rifle is closer to an XM25, which was used by SOCOM units in early Global War on Terror missions.
