I made a series of short videos to show you the difference between the blackpowder ignition systems. They are all filmed with 400 frame per sec and slowed to 50%. The percussion lock used a chemical ignition system. The mercury fulminate was placed in a small brass cup. The hammer hit this cap, and ignited the priming compound. The result was a faster, stronger and weather proof ignintion. Check that as the hammer falls, the gun fires immediately.
