Once part of the Harrington & Richardson Factory Museum, this is an extremely rare example of Heckler & Koch’s HK223, the direct predecessor to the HK33. It is the only example ever offered by Rock Island Auction Company.
Earlier versions, known as the T223, were tested in-field during the Vietnam War by Navy SEAL units, specifically SEAL Team 2. Photo evidence indicates the HK223 saw similar use. Information is extremely limited on these select-fire machine guns, but its military ties and supreme scarcity are well known to collectors.
