Ist that the first European handgun? – The 14th century Tannenberg gun

I am happy to show you the new film about the Tannenberg handgonne, the only properly dated 14th century European handgun we know about today. It covers its history, importance, but also a lot more. Gives insight to the accessories used in the 14th-15th century, and investigates how it was loaded for maximum effectiveness. In this chapter I am testing a charging method described in the Feuerwerkbuch dated 1432 (Freiburger Manuskriptes MS 362). This loading method requires leaving an airgap between bullet and powder charge, that seems strange while absolutaley not safe in today’s standard. But Capandball will test it for you.
