The Controversial Major General Daniel Sickles

“Union General Daniel Sickles is one of the most controversial figures of the American Civil War.” Lead Historian Seth Isaacson dives into the mixed legacy of Major General Sickles. Was he a murderer, thief, and philanderer or was he a veteran Medal of Honor recipient that lost a leg for his country at Gettysburg and then fought to have the battlefield enshrined?
