How the pellet priming system works on an original 1863 M Sharps percussion carbine

That is a very interesting concept for firing a percussion gun. Besides the traditional percussion caps, the military percussion Sharps rifles and carbines could be fired with percussion pellet fed by a clever little device integrated into the lock plate of the rifle.
