In this vid we take a look at an Enfield L39A1 (target rifle counterpart to the L42A1 sniper rifle) and an Envoy, and discuss the “in-between” model, the No4. 7.62 CONV.
Built on unused Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.2 type actions in 7.62x51mm / .308 Winchester, these were the official contributions from the Enfield factory for the transition from .303 SR(b) shooting, using tricked-out conventional No.4 rifles, when the Target Rifle discipline went over to the heavy-barrelled 7.62mm era, breaking the link with the service rifle. Although any rifle fulfilling the criteria could be used, the No.4 conversions were still winning big prizes at long range into the late-80’s or possibly even the 90’s.

Switzerland’s most popular native-English-language guns & shooting channel! Probably. Maybe. I guess. A somewhat off-the-wall and tongue-in-cheek look at firearms, military history and shooting, and a jolly good tilt at the windmills of fuddlore to go with it. And the odd off-topic vid about Switzerland, or whatever happens to take our fancy. We normally launch “in-series” vids on a Friday (early launch on a Wednesday via Patreon and the FB page https://www.facebook.com/Blokeontherange/ ), out-of-series vids launch precisely… whenever.
