Getting into some REAL experimental archaeology. We just had a very interesting day with my friends: András Magyar from the Museum of Szeged, and Peter Bogár, traditional bow long range champion. András replicated accurately the Avar lamellar armour of the 6-7th century. The size and thickness of the plates, the material it is made of and the method of securing them are all historically correct reproductions. This is juts a short teaser, but the full version is coming soon also testing different periodically correct armour versions and arrowheads launched with a 120 pound composite bow.
