A Sword, Andrew Jackson, & the Defense of Fort Stephenson

Fort Stephenson was a small outpost in Ohio that might have warranted little note in the War of 1812, were it not for a British force determined to storm it. The Battle of Ft. Stephenson pitted 160 American troops against approximately 10 times their number of British soldiers and Native American warriors.

The exceptional golden sword that remains, is a tangible sign of gratitude given by a grateful nation for the valor and courage shown that day. It is an American treasure and museum-worthy in every sense of the word.
