Early 16th century tinder lock arquebus vs non-authentic brigandine repro

Preliminary shooting tests were conducted to evaluate the target construction in preparation for further penetration tests using an early 16th-century tinder-lock arquebus. As the plates used are merely heat-treated, low-carbon modern rolled steel plates of 1.5 mm thickness, this cannot yet be considered an authentic penetration test. The final tests will be carried out using plates forged from bloomery iron. These plates will be manufactured and heat treated according to the results of archaeometallurgical examinations of two early 16th-century armour components.
