The Remington Model 95, or Remington-Elliot Derringer, or Remington Double Derringer is an icon of the western movies, and in fact was a very popular self defense gun. This single action two shot over under derringer was designed and patented in 1865 by William H. Elliot, a New York dentist. He was granted over 130 patents for his firearms inventions and this ferringer, originally in .41 rim fire calibre was one of his best known inventions.
This repro was made by Uberti in intaly and is chambered for the .38 special cartridge, also enough for self defense. Although the bores are rifled this pistol was designed for point blank range as last line of defense. The Uberti Maverick was made in 357 mag and 45 long volt calibers also. Tdoay it is not in production anymore.

Well this is my channel and these are my impressions about shooting old and repro blackpowder and cartridge guns. You will find target shooting, hunting, reloading and military history related videos here starring pre 1945 firearms. Since I was a little child I knew I want to be a history teacher. In fact I graduated as one. Later I studied military sciences on university level, and now I am doing my phd in firearms history while I teach military history at the university. That’s my life, my hobby. I hope you’ll enjoy my videos as much I enjoyed making them. Greetings form Hungary, the land of good wines and beautiful women. Oh yes, and please forgive my Hunglish. 😉
