If you ever wondered what type of firearms were used by the infantry in the early decades of the 16th century, this is your video. The snap matchlock or tinder lock arquebus was a short, small calibre arm that could be operated both with tinder sticks and slow match. It was the most important infantry arm, but in the second half of the 16th century it was replaced by the larger caliber, heavier matchlock musket.
