His tale is that of “Deeds, Not Words.” Charles McAnally was a simple Irish immigrant who felt compelled to fight for the land he now called home. Not only did he serve valiantly in the Civil War, he fought in some of its most dangerous battles, he ascending the ranks, was wounded multiple times, and even received the Medal of Honor – America’s highest military honor.
This sword is a gilded reminder of his fierce fighting spirit.
