General Clarence R. Huebner was a mild-mannered disciplinarian who, on D-Day, commanded the 1st Infantry Division in the first wave of troops at Omaha Beach. His military career, both before and after that terrible day, was decorated and accomplished, this was to be his crowning success.
Offered by Rock Island Auction Company are General Huebner’s M1911A1 and 1902 Officer’s Saber, which only recently left his direct descendants. They are a tangible reminder of a brave soldier, a respected leader, and the Kansas farm boy who changed U.S. military history forever.
