The plug bayonet was originally invented as a tool for hunters, but in the second half of the 17th century it sneaked into military service. This invention allowed the armies to abandone cold weapon armed foot soldiers once and for all, and to merge the qualities of the pikemen and musketeers in one single soldier. And now Capandball builds one just for fun. 🙂

Well this is my channel and these are my impressions about shooting old and repro blackpowder and cartridge guns. In fact I graduated as one. Later I studied military sciences on university level, and now I am doing my phd in firearms history while I teach military history at the university.
