Few gun writers generated the warmth and familiarity in their writing as did Skeeter Skelton. The former law enforcement man turned writer and editor, was an accomplished hunter and handgunner. He is perhaps best remembered today as an ambassador for combining the two, and bringing the hobby of handgun hunting into the mainstream.
The gun that served as his constant hunting companion (and appears with him in more photographs than any other) is his Ruger Blackhawk flattop in .44 Magnum. He contributions to the handgunning world are many, making this perhaps the most significant Ruger ever made.
