This was invented by two employees at Kongsberg Weapon Factory: Andersen and Braathen. Patented in 1921, No. 42331.
After our episode on the Norwegian Krag we had a lot of people reach out to us about civilian speed loaders. While there are several designs out there, the Andersen & Braathen seemed to be the coolest to me.
After some failed digging, Discord member Rasmus managed to spot one in a lot of used bits and bobs in Norway. He kindly helped us negotiate its purchase and shipping.

C&Rsenal releases their flagship series “Primer” every other week. It focuses on one firearm of the Great War at a time, in depth with animations, live fire demonstrations, and historical context! Our mission is to document and describe historical military small arms from across the world. We hope to share our love for all the attention that went into the design, development, manufacture, and issuance of these pieces.
