TAB Episode 73: M56 Scorpion – Lightweight Self-Propelled Gun

In the late 40s the US Army decided it needed a lightweight self-propelled anti-tank gun that could be air-dropped into the combat zone to support its airborne forces. The result was the unarmoured but mobile M56 Scorpion. While the Scorpion had a relatively short service life it did see action in Vietnam.
