These were popular guns for foreign export, being relatively small, light, and inexpensive. St Chamond&#8217;s 70mm gun was built on the same breech design as their previous 75mm field gun, at the request of the Mexican military and famous small arms designer Manuel Mondragon. Quantities were sold to Mexico, Guatemala, and Belgium (for use in the Belgian Congo).
