Part 2 looks at the mechanisms of the 12-Inch Howitzer from 1916.  In particular the Buffer and recouperator absorbing the recoil, the hydraulic reservoir &#8211; this Howitzer was the first large gun equipped with a hydraulic ram. The rapid elevation mechanism allowed the gun to be lowered quickly for reloading without affecting the sights.  This led into a review of the range tables for the various charges.
