This was followed the next year by the SP2009; the same gun but in 9x19mm. These pistols proved quite popular with law enforcement agencies, and SIG was able to win a very large contract with French law enforcement (Gendarmerie, Police Nationale, and Customs services) by making a few improvements to the gun. The new model was the SP2022, and it has also been very widely popular.<\/p>\n<p>Today these pistols are largely overlooked, but offer an excellent value for their quality.
